Tyson J. Herrmann, O.D. joined Prairie Eye Center in April, 2017. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois in 1998. He then earned his Doctor of Optometry in 2003 from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. There, he was a Dean’s List honor student receiving awards for clinical assistance and practice management.
Dr. Herrmann has provided eye care in the Decatur, Illinois area since 2003 and is a therapeutically licensed optometrist. He brings experience in treating a full spectrum of patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric. He provides primary eye care examinations with treatment and management of ocular diseases and conditions including glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye syndrome, and diabetes. He also provides pre- and post-operative care as well as comprehensive contact lens services. Dr. Herrmann is a member of the American Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association, Central Illinois IOA Society, Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness, has been an examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry, and is adjunct faculty for the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Herrmann is seeing new patients in our Decatur location and accepts most vision plans.
Dr. Herrmann lives in Clinton, Illinois, and enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife and three children.
