The role of each medical or optical technician is to take a history from each patient and assist the optometrist or the medical doctor while the patient is here for an examination or procedure. Their additional responsibility is to help the patient feel at ease from the time the patient enters the front door until the clinical stay is complete. The technicians also act as a liaison between the patient and the doctor.
