Pediatric Ophthalmology & Comprehensive Ophthalmology
Dr. Melissa Kiel is a board-certified ophthalmologist with specialized training in pediatric eye care. She is passionate about helping children and families navigate their vision health needs with expert care and a compassionate touch. Dr. Kiel sees patients of all ages and has particular expertise in diagnosing and treating childhood eye conditions such as strabismus (crossed eyes), amblyopia (lazy eye), and blocked tear ducts.
She earned her medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine before completing both her internship and ophthalmology residency at St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Kiel is known for her thorough and friendly approach, making children feel at ease and helping parents understand treatment options every step of the way.
Dr. Kiel is currently accepting new patients at Prairie Eye & LASIK Center.
