Chelsey Moore, OD

Chelsey Moore, O.D. is a Minnesota native who graduated from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology. During college, Dr. Moore participated in gymnastics while being named an Academic All-American her senior year. She received her Doctor of Optometry in 2010 with Honors from Indiana University while graduating in the top three of her class.  While in optometry school, Dr. Moore completed externships at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida, and Kessler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. Dr. Moore joined Prairie Eye Center in August, 2010 and practices full-scope optometry.

Dr. Moore held the position of Chatham Public Library Trustee from 2016 to 2021. She has also previously served on the Chatham Library Foundation Board. She has been involved in numerous activities with the Chatham Jaycees for the past 10 years. Dr. Moore served on the board of trustees as secretary for three years for the Chatham Jaycees and was awarded the “Jaycee of the Year” award in 2012.

Dr. Moore previously was the Midstate IOA Society President for five years. She is currently serving on the Illinois Optometric Association Board of Directors and will be the Chairman of the Board from 2022-to 2023. In 2018, Dr. Moore was the recipient of the IOA Young Optometrist of the Year award. She also won the 2018 Springfield 40 Under 40 Award. Dr. Moore enjoys running and traveling as well as spending time with her husband and daughter.
