Emily Beyer, OD

Emily Beyer, O.D. is a Springfield native who joined Prairie Eye and LASIK Center in 2016. She graduated in 3.5 years from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She received her Doctor of Optometry in 2016 with Honors from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, graduating at the top of her class. She also spent her years at UMSL as a teaching assistant and tutor to the 2017 class while earning various academic awards such as Anatomy and Physiology Student of the Year and was a frequent name on the Dean’s List. While in optometry school, Dr. Beyer completed externships at the VA hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as a variety of other clinics throughout Missouri and Illinois.

Dr. Beyer is a member of the Illinois Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She practices full-scope optometry including the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, family eye care, contact lenses, and post-operative care. Dr. Beyer enjoys tumbling and gymnastics and helps coach at a local cheerleading gym whenever possible. She is currently accepting new patients at the Springfield location.
