Emily Beyer, O.D. is a Springfield native who joined Prairie Eye and LASIK Center in 2016. She graduated in 3.5 years from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2016 with Honors from the University of Missouri- St. Louis, graduating at the top of her class. She also spent her years at UMSL as a teaching assistant and tutor to the 2017 class while earning various academic awards such as Anatomy and Physiology student of the year and a frequent name on the Dean’s List. During Optometry School, Dr. Beyer completed externships at the VA hospital in Kansas City, MO, as well as a variety of other clinics throughout Missouri and Illinois.
Dr. Beyer is a member of the Illinois Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She practices full scope Optometry including the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, family eye care, contact lenses, and post-operative care. Dr. Beyer enjoys tumbling and gymnastics and helps coach at a local cheerleading gym whenever possible. She is currently accepting new patients at the Springfield location.
