Monica Ryan, OD

Monica Ryan, O.D. is a central Illinois native who joined Prairie Eye Center in 2015. She earned her undergraduate degree from Eastern Illinois University, where she graduated with High Honors. Dr. Ryan earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Missouri, St. Louis, where she was on the Dean’s List all four years. Dr. Ryan’s fourth-year externships included time at the VA Medical Center in Marion, Illinois, as well as several public and private clinics throughout St. Louis.

Dr. Ryan offers full-scope optometry services, which include family eye care, management of ocular disease, contact lens fittings, post-op care, and low vision evaluations. She is known for her upbeat, compassionate nature and her excellent chairside manner with patients.

She is currently accepting new patients at our Springfield and Decatur offices. Dr. Ryan accepts EyeMed, VSP, and all major health plans, with the exception of Health Alliance HMO.
